Through my time self studying Japanese I have gone through heaps of different resources and apps. There are a lot of terrible guides out there and the price ranges vary wildly so it can be hard to figure out what’s worth the effort.
I have done the hard work trying course after course to weed out the junk for you! With these recommendations you can hopefully skip the hours of frustration I had and get into learning quickly.
These pages are my top recommendations for resources, books, games and other media. The books and apps here have really helped get stuff into my brain and allowed me to learn Japanese solo (yes, like the name of the site!) as effectively as someone in a class would. In each category I also try to cover a range of budgets so you can tailor to your needs.
